Craft BBQ. No shortcuts. Ever.

Located at 7626 S Staples St #111, Corpus Christi, TX 78413, Baare BBQ operates as a chinese bbq serving Corpus Christi in Texas. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.

In cities with a Chinatown, weekend mornings bring dim sum carts or order sheets, and lines form early at the most popular spots in Corpus Christi; walk-ins are standard and reservations are uncommon outside large banquet restaurants. Regional labels matter: Cantonese, Sichuan, Hunan, Shanghainese and Taiwanese kitchens cook very differently, so a restaurant's stated region is a better guide to the food than the word "Chinese" alone. Some smaller restaurants in Texas are BYOB with no corkage fee; call ahead to confirm. A tip of 15-20% is customary for table service but not expected at counter-order takeout. Spice level, MSG and allergen questions are normal to ask before ordering, and most kitchens are happy to leave an ingredient out or tone down the heat if you mention it when ordering rather than after the food arrives.

Hours are published for 4 days a week. On most of those days it is open 11 am–5:30 pm. Note that it does not open on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach Baare BBQ at (361) 692-2021; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. Its website is baarebbq.com, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.

On Google it holds a rating of 4.6 out of 5 from 109 reviews, which is a strong result for a chinese bbq in Corpus Christi and suggests consistent service.

Corpus Christi is in Texas, in the South, where summers are hot and humid, winters are short, and severe storms in spring are a fact of life; businesses run air conditioning most of the year and many open early to beat the heat. Getting around Corpus Christi is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Texas's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Everything was so delicious, and the staff was super nice and helpful. 10/10 highly recommend, and will be coming back for sure. Make sure to get the banana pudding, it's delightful!

Newer BBQ place in a small strip mall on the Southside. BAARE (pronounced bear) is an acronym made up of the first initials of this family owned business. Open format sitting area, which allows tables to be pulled together for larger parties. It is primarily an a la carte menu, although there are some "package" deals, such as the Texas Trinity, which feeds 2-4 people, depending on your appetite. All served on a butcher-paper covered tin tray. Brisket was very tender, sausage has a wonderful crispy case, ribs were good (I like them a bit thicker). Sauce is thin and compliments the post oak smoked meats. Great sliced pickles. Sides were not traditional (no slaw or potatoes salad), but are very good (Jambalaya is spicy, cucumber salad cuts the fat from the brisket, cornbread is dry with a topping of butter and sweet syrup), and they do have beans, but we didn't get them. A friend was not a fan of the tater tot casserole. The apple cobbler was just the right amount of sweet; banana pudding is available. Overall, if you're on this side of town, it's a good place to get your bbq fix.

I went to this bbq spot about a week after it opened and there was a line past the entry door (video in review). Very delicious food, worth the wait. They sell out 9 out of 10 times. Moist, well seasoned brisket, creamy Mac and cheese and don’t get me started on the tater casserole πŸ™πŸΎπŸ˜ give this new local bbq spot a try and watch it become your new regular food spot. Tried it out for lunch today - my husband and I got a few different things to try. The brisket was really great quality, very tender, even the lean was moist, and generous serving for the sandwich. I got the sliced beef and he got the cooked beef. We thought it was going to be shredded mixed with bbq sauce. It was cut from the same piece of brisket mine was cut from and chopped there in front of us - pretty neat. The mac and cheese was very creamy and tasty - I think I even tasted beer in it! The cowboy beans were my favorite thing! So delicious with lots of cilantro and bacon and sausage. The cornbread was also delicious - I wish I could have put more of the honey butter on it. Husband said the jalapeΓ±o sausage was excellent. And we both really enjoyed the banana pudding. We will definitely be going back to try out more of their BBQ and sides!

Walked into this new barbecue restaurant in Corpus, and the line was 20 to 30 people long. Smell amazing in their atmosphere was uplifted you could see all the workers trying to push out food. This was my first time here. I ended up ordering a pound of brisket moist, jalapeΓ±o cheddar sausage, cornbread, beans, jambalaya, and banana pudding. I’ll begin with the brisket, which is undoubtedly the best in Corpus Christi, hands down! It was incredibly moist and flavorful, and the bark was perfectly. It was simply amazing. Next up was the sausage. Unfortunately, it wasn’t my favorite. It was dry and seemed a bit overcooked. Perhaps I should try the house sausage next time. Ask for all the sides, especially the jambalaya and cornbread. They were incredibly flavorful and simply amazing. A must try!! The beans were OK nothing Bit watery, but did have some decent flavor. Finally, the bread pudding it was great. The only complaint I have here is I felt a little ripped off. My meal was to go, and I just felt shorted on the portion size that I received. I have attached a photo for a little bit more clarity. I was not offered any bread, which I’m not sure if is a standard offering at this rest
